Lights, camera, action! Those are the words that Dr. Deed Harrison has been hearing lately as he has been filming more and more videos for the Chiropractic BioPhysics Youtube Channel. The reason for the uptick in video creation? Dr. Harrison states, “It is something that the next generation of doctors want, so I plan to deliver.”
Chiropractic BioPhysics is one of the most heavily researched department wings in all of the Chiropractic profession with over 100 published papers in all the major journals. What Dr. Deed was finding was that even though a plethora of research was being published in house, it was not being consumed by the practicing doctors.
With the help of COD and other industry experts he set out on a journey to uncover why the research was not being acted upon. What he found was that the next generation of Chiropractor is consuming media differently than the past generations. He said, “The next generation of Chiropractor wants information on demand. They seek out into the ‘Googlespace’ in search of an instant answer. If they can’t find the answers in due time, then the chances of them receiving that knowledge dwindles with every passing minute. Unfortunately fewer and fewer doctors are spending time to read journals and pick apart research papers. We are finding that more and more doctors and students are turning to resources, like Circle of Docs, for answers to their questions.”
In compliance, Dr. Harrison wanted to be able to provide a resources for these doctors to help aide their education for practice and life. So, he has set out to produce one Youtube video per week about some aspect of the Chiropractic BioPhysics “life” and research. Everything from Lateral Lumbar Film Analysis Reliability to A Normal Sagittal Spinal Configuration is being produced. These videos will focus on current and past research that has been published by the CBP team, but I will be narrating it and giving you my insiders knowledge on the topics.
He states he will not be able to cover the complete spectrum of events that are happening in a the CBP world in each video, but thinks these weekly videos will help doctors consume the CBP research quicker and increase reliability.
When asked if he thinks that Youtube will eventually take over for the published CBP research, he was quick to deny. I will always advocate that people read the journals and attend the seminars. “That is where the real ‘meat and potatoes’ of Chiropractic BioPhysics will be discussed.” However, these small bite sized videos are set to keep you educated and up to date on the latest topics in the world of Chiropractic.
