#5- Conversation is the New Lead
My number five prediction for 2019 is that we will get back to conversation. Conversation will be the new lead in 2019. Whether that conversation happens in person, on social media, via email, phone or text, the way that people will find out more about chiropractic is through conversation.
#4- The Riches are in the Niches
Number four, the riches are in the niches. That’s right. As we see chiropractic starting to niche down more, more and more people are seeking chiropractors that are specific in a niche. So doctor, if you are niche specific, you need to make sure that you’re advertising it towards them. Your branding, your positioning, and the things that you’re putting out in your community need to match your niche. The more specific you are, the greater change of viability and profitability your practice will have.
#3- Adopt a Ecosystem
My number three prediction, it’s all about ecosystem. Apple first introduced this with their iPhone, and ever since then, people have been clamoring to try to create their own ecosystem. Think about this for a minute, if you are using an iPhone, chances are you’re also using an iPad, an iMac, or some other i-device. In addition to that, you’re probably buying apps thought the iTunes store on the app store, and you may even be streaming music through iTunes. What does that tell you? It tells you that once you are indoctrinated into an ecosystem, it’s very hard to leave. Now, why don’t we do the same thing with our patients? Give them the supplements, give them the pillows, give them the beds, give them the exercises, give them the products and services that serve your ecosystem. Studies also show us that people who are involved in an ecosystem will remain a customer for a longer duration and have a higher chance of being a raving fan.
#2- Membership Based Practices
My number two prediction for 2019 is that doctors will be moving to a membership based model. I believe that the one time purchase of patients spending three, five, seven thousand dollars for care for 12 to 24 months is fading. People are adopting more of this model of membership where every single month, they pay a flat fee for a service. Thank about it. Your telephone, your cellphone, your television, your gym. All of those services are based upon a membership model. I also wanna tell you that when you go to resell your practice, analysts are showing that doctors that have a recurring billing off of a membership model have anywhere between a three to five times higher valuation versus doctors who are simply paying for time and service. So docs, if you are not yet adopting a membership model, I highly encourage you to look into it as that seems to be the trend for the future.
#1- The Rise of Evidence Based Vitalism
My number one prediction for chiropractic in 2019? Evidence based vitalism. Now, if you’re a doctor and you’re listening to this, those are two contradictory terms, evidence based and vitalism. But here’s what I predicts what’s going to happen in 2019, we’re doing more and more and more research every single day around the world bout the benefits of chiropractic care, and what we’re going to see in 2019 is that the evidence and the research is going to back everything that chiropractors have been touting since 1895. As we continue to make these steps and to produce these results, my challenge to you, doctor, is to be bold out in the marketplace and share that information with everyone around. We literally have the capability today to take out a phone and post an image, post an article, post a video talking about the wonders of chiropractic that have been backed by research.
