A little over a year ago, I made the decision to add a standing desk environment to my office. As any chiropractor should know, sitting all day is a bad idea.
I loved the increase in energy and how much better my spine felt working at a standing desk. And in my office there is nice carpeting. But with this, I noticed that my knees and hips would get fatigued and feel stiff after some hours.
Fortunately, I was at Cal Jam and went to the MeyerDC booth and found out that they had a product called, WellnessMat. This mat which is 6’x3’ has a dense cushion and was designed to reduce stress on joints associated with long periods of standing. So I wanted one shipped to me ASAP!
I will admit I was a little skeptical since I already was standing on a carpet that had pretty good cushion. Could this really make much of a difference given the floor cover I already had? Answer: YES!
I felt the difference as soon as I stepped on the WellnessMat.
It felt ‘nice’ but not too mushy.
The promised results were real. Much less joint stiffness and fatigue. I look forward to stepping on it every day I go to my desk. And so far it has proven to be very durable. (I’ve only had it for about 6 months.) Plus it has a beveled edge and looks pretty cool. I got it in the black color.
The only minor downside is that when I step on it with my shoes, it can show some dirt. Not that big a deal and it is easy enough to clean. A lighter color might be less so.

- Looks good in a minimalistic way (some mats can look downright ugly).
- So far seems very durable.
Cons:
- Can show some dirt
- The price of this mat is not the cheapest on the market ($300) and rightly so. You pay for what you get. This mat is top notch and the quality will not disappoint.
