If I was going to give you three guesses to what is the one commonality between the two winners of the last three of golf’s major championships, I bet you would be wrong. Its not the same clubs, balls, or even clothing sponsor. The answer is CHIROPRACTIC!
Jordan Speith
As many can recall Jordan Speith was quick to complement his Chiropractor during his victory speech at the Masters. In his speech, Spieth made sure to thank the team “that allow my on-course efforts to come out”: his instructor, his trainer – and his Chiropractor, Dr. Troy Van Biezen. “They are the best at what they do and I put full trust in them,” Spieth said.
To add to his incredible year Jordan went out and won the 2015 US Open at Chambers Bay the end of June.
Zack Johnson
Fast forward to July 20th and another Chiropractic patient hoists a major championship trophy, this time its the Claret Jug, as Zack Johnson wins the 2015 British Open.
Zack Johnson, is the son of Chiropractor and former Palmer graduate Dr. David Johnson.
Pro golfer Zach Johnson’s chiropractor isn’t just devoted to providing the best care for his star patient—he’s also his dad! But Palmer Grad David Johnson, D.C. doesn’t just provide chiropractic care for professional athletes, rock stars, and college sports teams, he also treats everyone from babies to grandmothers and everyone in between.
Dr. Johnson is a Davenport ’77 alumnus from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In addition to helping his son, Zach, Dr. Johnson also devotes his time providing care to Mount Mercy College student-athletes, and he sees a variety of athletes in his practice. From middle school sports participants to high-level competitors, each day is a reminder of how vital chiropractic care is to the current success and future potential of these athletes.
“Athletes are turning to chiropractic first after injuries,” he says. “They’re looking for less-invasive procedures that allow for shorter turnaround times and few side effects and setbacks. Chiropractic is just that. They are seeing the results and continue to see them under chiropractic care.”

“I’m a chiropractor. I adjust babies, I adjust grandmothers, I get to work with famous celebrities and athletes,” he adds, “It’s been very fulfilling to help people by hand and get great results. It’s just awesome.”
Whats the bottom line for both of these athletes? The answer to their success may just be regular Chiropractic care in combination with hard work on the golf course!
